Masters by Research (MbyRes) or PhD
We are welcoming applications from students who would like to undertake a MbyRes degree or a PhD within our team. Please note that these projects are self-funded and therefore applicants will need to find external funding sources to cover tuition fees, living expenses’ and research costs (bench fees) associated with the project.
We offer internships and summer placements to give students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work on real projects, and develop valuable professional skills. We’ve welcomed students through a range of internship and placement schemes, including:
Access to Internships
Access to Internships (A2i) provides support and funding to help Exeter students arrange a paid internship in the UK. Students can apply for one employer subsidy and one ‘Help Getting to Work’ bursary, if eligible, per year. Further information can be found here.
Genetics Society Summer Studentships
This funding scheme supports students to gain experience in any area of genetics by doing a research project during their summer holidays prior to the final year of your degree. Further information can be found here.
